This Privacy Policy describes how FeedbackFlow ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Gyde (the "App"), a product recommendation quiz application for Shopify merchants. Our website is available at https://gyde.vercel.app.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

From Merchants (Shopify Store Owners)

When you install Gyde from the Shopify App Store, we may collect:

  • Store information: Your Shopify store URL, store name, and store ID
  • Account information: Name, email address, and contact details associated with your Shopify account
  • Billing information: Subscription plan details (billing is processed by Shopify; we do not store payment card information)
  • App usage data: Quiz configurations, quiz content, settings, and preferences you create within the App
  • Quiz response data: Aggregated and individual responses submitted by your store visitors through quizzes you create

From Your Store Visitors (End Customers)

When your store visitors interact with quizzes powered by Gyde, we may collect on your behalf:

  • Quiz responses: Answers provided to quiz questions
  • Product interaction data: Products recommended to and selected by quiz respondents
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and referring URL (for analytics and fraud prevention)
  • Optional contact information: Only if you configure your quiz to collect it (e.g., email address for lead capture)

You, as the merchant, are responsible for ensuring your storefront privacy policy discloses to your customers that their quiz responses may be processed by Gyde.

Automatically Collected Data

We automatically collect certain technical data when you or your visitors use the App, including:

  • Log data (access times, pages viewed, errors)
  • Device and browser information
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and Services
  • Process and display quiz results and product recommendations
  • Provide analytics and performance reporting to merchants
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with merchants
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Send service-related communications (you may opt out of marketing emails)

3. Shopify's Role

Gyde is built on the Shopify platform. By using the App, certain data is also processed by Shopify in accordance with Shopify's Privacy Policy. We access your Shopify store data solely as necessary to provide the Services and in compliance with Shopify's API Terms of Service and Partner Program Agreement.

We only request the Shopify API permission scopes necessary to deliver the App's functionality, and we do not use your store data for any purpose other than providing the Services.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the App, remember your preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the App.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your customers' data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., hosting providers, analytics services). These parties are contractually obligated to use the data only as directed by us and to maintain appropriate security measures.
  • Shopify: We operate as a Shopify App and share data with Shopify as necessary to provide the Services in accordance with Shopify's requirements.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
  • With your consent: We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

6. Data Retention

We retain merchant account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Quiz response data is retained as configured in your App settings. Upon uninstalling the App or requesting account deletion, we will delete your data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing

8. GDPR Compliance

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or process personal data of EEA residents, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We act as a data processor on your behalf with respect to your customers' quiz data. As a merchant, you are the data controller and are responsible for having a lawful basis for processing your customers' personal data.

9. CCPA Compliance

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may provide you with additional rights, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. 10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data is transmitted over encrypted (SSL/TLS) connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and any applicable regulatory authority as required by law.

The App may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at https://gyde.vercel.app/legal/privacy with a revised "last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
